New Wigan signing Jean Beausejour says he is confident Wigan can avoid relegation and says the game at Bolton is huge.

The Chilean signed for Latics from Birmingham in the January window and impressed when he made his debut against Everton in the 1-1 at the weekend.

Beausejour experienced relegation from the Premier League with Birmingham last season but he is confident the same will not happen again after picking up on the positive vibe around the club.

"I feel happy since arriving at Wigan and I'm very confident about the rest of the season," Beausejour told the Evening Post. "The feeling around the club is good, very positive, and I firmly believe the future of the club is bright.

"And if we can start Saturday's game at Bolton the same way we finished the Everton game, I think we have a big chance of getting a win - which would move us closer to safety."
