McCarthy issues rallying call

James McCarthy says spirits are still high in the Wigan camp and they will go to Bolton looking for all three points.

The Latics remain rooted to the foot of the Premier League table and they travel to the Reebok Stadium knowing they must beat fellow strugglers Bolton if they are to avoid relegation.

Wigan were minutes away from beating Everton at the weekend before the visitors equalised and McCarthy says they must forget about that and concentrate on the Bolton game.

"To be ahead going into the last 10 minutes and not win the game is very frustrating," McCarthy revealed. "But it's gone now and we need to look at the game at Bolton and try and put it right there.

"The mood in the camp is still great. We're all sticking together and we can do it.

"There are still 14 games to go and if we can end the season as strongly as we did last season and the one before we'll be fine.

"The gaffer installs confidence in us week in, week out in training and that won't change."
