Alan Pardew believes his Newcastle team are good enough to upset the odds and secure a Champions League spot for next season.
The Toon have been the surprise package in the Premier League this season and currently occupy fifth after their win over Blackburn in midweek, leaving them three points off fourth-placed Chelsea.
Newcastle could put the pressure on the Blues on Sunday with a win over Aston Villa, the west London outfit facing Manchester United later on in the day.
With Arsenal and Liverpool also pushing for that last Champions League spot the race is likely to go down to the wire.
Pardew, who has been coy over Newcastle's chances of securing European football for next season, has now admitted he thinks the Magpies can finish in the top four.
"We've got to keep it going and chase down Chelsea," said Pardew. It's a great opportunity now and hopefully we can achieve something special.
"It's incredible. We're fifth and above Arsenal and Liverpool.
"We've got 39 points and we're safe so that's one job done. Now we've got 15 cup finals and it's all to play for."
