Arshavin set for Feb exit

by Setanta Staff , 01 February 2012 Arshavin set for Feb exit

Andrei Arshavin looks set to return to Russia after Anzhi Makhachkala made an approach for the Arsenal midfielder.

The Russian transfer deadline runs until February 24th so there is still plenty of time to push a deal through and the Gunners are keen to recoup some of the £13million they paid Zenit St Petersburg for his services.

The 30-year-old still has 18 months to run on his contract at the Emirates Stadium but Arsene Wenger will not offer him a new one and is keen to cut his losses.

Talks have only just begun with Anzhi Makhachkala, who will have to pay in the region of £7million for the Russian skipper.
