QPR fail with Rodallega bid

QPR have failed with a £4million bid for Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega and Mark Hughes is not ready to increase his bid.

Wigan boss Roberto Martinez has hinted that a move could happen before the closure of the transfer window and QPR had been keen to wrap up a deal.

However it would seem that £4million falls short of Wigan's valuation even though the striker is out of contract in the summer and Hughes is reluctant to make another bid.

"We made a bid over a week ago but we have not returned since," he said.

"We would have to revisit it if we felt he was the right one for us. At the moment we put in an offer that we felt was at the right level and we got knocked back so we haven't been back since."

Tottenham are also being linked with a swoop and there have been suggestions he could even play for Wigan at White Hart Lane tonight before signing for Spurs straight after the match.
