Potters play down transfer talk

by Setanta Staff , 26 January 2012 Potters play down transfer talk

Stoke chairman Peter Coates has admitted he isn't expecting any new faces at the Britannia Stadium in January.

The Potters spent heavily in the summer, bringing in Peter Crouch, Cameron Jerome and Wilson Palacios, as well as free agents Matthew Upson and Jonathan Woodgate, who raised Stoke's wage bill.

Boss Tony Pulis has been tentatively linked with the likes of Wigan striker Hugo Rodallega and QPR's DJ Campbell, but Coates insists he is not expecting any new arrivals in the current transfer window, although he did not completely rule out adding to the squad.

He told the Sentinel: "We are not expecting anything, unless something falls that we like the look of.

"We have a quite a large squad, and feel we are well served with cover."
