Tigers eye Ayala loan deal

by Admin , 30 August 2010 Tigers eye Reds youngster

Hull assistant manager Craig Shakespeare has confirmed the Tigers are interested in signing Liverpool defender Daniel Ayala on loan.

The 19-year-old is unlikely to force his way into the Reds first team plans this season and manager Roy Hodgson is keen for the former Sevilla player to gain some much needed experience.

While Hull boss Nigel Pearson has made signing Ayala his top priority the financial restrictions at the KC Stadium mean it could be difficult to bring in the defender.

Shakespeare says getting the deal done is a must with the Tigers having conceded nine goals in their three away matches this season.

"There's an interest there but at the minute, nothing has been done," Shakespeare told This Is Hull and East Riding.

"He's one on a long list that we've spoken about.

"We'd like to do business but we understand the restrictions that the club have in terms of transfers."
