Wigan manager Roberto Martinez believes his side's remaining Barclays Premier League games are equivalent to 13 cup finals.
The Latics, who are at the foot of the league table, have just returned from a week away in Oman as they prepare for the final stages of the season.
And Martinez insists his squad has returned more focussed than ever to start their climb away from the relegation zone, starting against Aston Villa at the DW Stadium this weekend.
"It's been important for the players to re-focus and look at the 13 games we've got ahead of us," he said.
"They're all cup finals and an opportunity for us to finish the season very strong.
"Every game is going to be crucial between now and the end of the season and I feel as though the group understands the importance of fixtures like this weekend's against Aston Villa fully now."
