Home ties on cards for big guns

by JP Lonergan , 19 February 2012

Tottenham Hotspur must beat Stevenage in a replay if they are to take on Bolton Wanderers in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Sunday saw the League One side hold the Premier League high-fliers to a 0-0 draw, with the sides due to now meet in a White Hart Lane replay. The winners of that tie will then host Owen Coyle’s Trotters in the last eight as a result of Sunday’s draw. Bolton won at Millwall on Saturday.

Elsewhere, Leicester City, who shocked Norwich City on Saturday, will have their eyes on a quarter-final at Stamford Bridge. That will only happen, however, if Chelsea can overcome Birmingham City in a replay after Saturday’s 1-1 draw.

Liverpool will be at home to Stoke City, Crawley Town’s conquerors, in the last eight, while both Everton and Sunderland will now have their eys on Cup success. They will meet at Goodison Park in the fourth and final quarter-final tie.

Everton defeated Blackpool on Saturday to reach the quarters, with Sunderland seeing off Arsenal to get this far.

FA Cup quarter-final draw (Ties to be played weekend of March 17/18):
Liverpool v Stoke City
Chelsea or Birmingham City v Leicester City
Stevenage or Tottenham Hotspur v Bolton Wanderers
Everton v Sunderland
