Andy Stewart knows Big Buck's unbeaten run cannot go on forever but he is not sure it will come to an end at Cheltenham on Saturday.
In a change from his normal pre-World Hurdle schedule Big Buck's has been declared to run in the Rewards4Racing Cleeve Hurdle, the race he won on his first start over hurdles following his switch to timber in 2008.
Since then he has gone on to win all 14 of his starts, including the last three World Hurdles, and he looked better than he has ever done when he won the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot last time.
He faces five horses at Cheltenham on Saturday and while Stewart respects every other horse in the field, he is anticipating another big run from his charge.
"You never know what will happen, and one day he will get beaten," the owner said.
"At Ascot he looked better than ever. There was a moment three out where Ruby (Walsh) was careful, but after that it was a formality.
"Dynaste was the second best horse in the race that day. If he'd been ridden differently he'd have finished second.
"I'm sure they'll ride him with a bit more patience this time - although he's no Grands Crus."
